Canastota Psychic Fair 2005
Cortland Psychic Fair Oct. 2005
I wish to state that the following article I have written are strictly my opinions, however some of them have been passed onto me by my teacher. These are just a few basic guidelines that you the consumer may want to take into consideration when looking for a reputable psychic. Being that there is no written ethical code that a psychic or  alternative healer must follow, it can make it difficult for the consumer to decide which psychic to go too.

There are things that a consumer should be aware of when looking for a good psychic and or healer as opposed to a bad psychic, and I am not talking about their abilities as being good or bad, but how they conduct themselves within the confines of their practice. Here are a few things to be wary of if a Psychic does the following:

1.) Having you do ritualistic actions, example: clearing negative energies and paying a hefty price for it. Ask yourself "Was it a reading I received or just a bunch of mumbo - jumbo?" Ritual can be important ,however ritual is something that you can create for yourself. I do realize there are some that need assistance in this "scared act". But that's the point it is a scared act  not one that should have monetary attachments.

2.) You make an appointment, told what the fee is for their services, and then told after the session that you must buy such and such an item from them for a additional cost never having been informed of this when fees were discussed upon making the appointment.

3.) Making grandiose claims such as: "I can make things happen for you, love, money.  I can even give you "magic numbers" for the lottery" That's not what a psychic does and if a psychic had the supposed "magic numbers" why are they themselves not using them? No psychic has a magic wand to wave over you to make things happen. The psychics duty is to tell you what they see, what you, the client does with the information is up to you.

4.) The Free Will Concept: I was taught this first and foremost by my mentor, as a psychic never, never force your will upon another to get a reading. A potential client must choose to do so of their own accord! Example: The psychic tells you  that you must make follow up appointments with them and only them and schedules you a series of appointments in advance.

A good rule of thumb, is to wait anywhere's from three to six months even up to a year before booking another appointment . Another example: A psychic walks up too you out of the clear blue and starts giving you a reading without your permission, I have had this happen and in most cases the "supposed psychic" is way of the mark., but this is not the point  I wish to make, they have just interfered with my free will to choose.

5.) Dependency and the Enabler: Another thing to watch out for. In this situation it is the client  that becomes the dependent party and the psychic that becomes the enabler. Intended or not it is something that both parties should be aware of potentially happening. Any "good" psychic will put the kabash on it as soon as they see it occurring. Don't rely on a psychics insight or the psychic to lead you through life. Use what the psychic offers more as possible guide posts along the way.
